Summary: WP: Troy Wunderlich 8+IP 1r 6h 3k 6bb Save: Adam Harlander 1IP 0r 1h 1bb LP: Nick Gruber8 1/3IP 4r 13h 4k 5bb Jeremy Celusta 2/3IP 0r 0h Lakers highlights: Ricky Hendrickson 4-6 rbi, run Taylor Holthaus 4-6 2 rbi Gary Deters 1-2 2bb, run Steves highlights: Jake Fiedler 2-4 rbi Adam Tschumperlin 2-4 dbl The Avon Lakers secured the final spot in the upcoming Region 8C Tournament with a 4-1 win at St. Stephen Sunday.  Taylor Holthaus gave the Lakers a 2-0 lead with 2-out rbi singles in the 3rd and 6th innings.  Jake Fiedler drive in a run for the Steves with a 6th inning single, making it 2-1.  It stayed that way until the 9th, when Ricky Hendrickson and Matt Meyer had rbi singles to make it 4-1.  Avon loaded the bases in each of the final 4 innings, and left 18 men on base in the game.  Troy Wunderlich pitched 8+ innings, leaving after issuing a leadoff walk in the 9th.  Adam Harlander came on in relief and got a double play grounder to shortstop, then gave up a double and a walk before getting a lineout to 2nd to end the game.  Holthaus and Hendrickson each had 4 hits for Avon.  After the game, Avon selected Dusty Upgren of St. Stephen, Opole took Jake Fiedler of the Steves, the Lakers took Neil Theisen of St. Stephen and Opole then took Damien Dumonceaux of St. Wendel.  Avon plays the Pierz Brewers at 5:00 pm and Opole wil play Lastrup at 7:30 pm next Saturday int he first round of the Region 8C Tournament.
