The Skis and Blue Jays played a quick sub-2 hour game at Varsity Field in Upsala on Sunday with Sobieski coming out on top by a score of 4-1.  All the scoring happened in the 4th inning in this game.  Sobieski got their 4 runs when Austin Weisz singled to drive in Joey Hanowski to make it 1-0 with 1 out.  A potential double-play ball was misplayed for an error  and the Skis took advantage, getting an rbi single from Tyler Jendro that scored Dusty Parker and then then the throw home went all the way to the backstop for an error, Austin Weisz came in to score as well and it was 3-0.  Riley Hirsch then laid down a perfect squeeze bunt to bring in Dan Marod with the 4th run of the inning. Upsala scored their run in the bottom of the 4th when Justin Lampert singled with 1 out, and after a strikeout, a single by Paul Krebs and an error loaded the bases.  Brady Burggraff singled to center to drive in Lampert to make it 4-1.  Tyler Jendro, who would pitch 5 innings to get the Win, then got a ground ball to shortstop Collin Eckman and a short flip to 2nd baseman Joey Hanowski to end the inning as Upsala left the bases loaded.  Neither team seriously threatened to score again as both teams lifted their starters after 5 innings with Skis going with Thomas Miller, who closed out the 4 innings to earn a Save while Upsala's Matt Swanson struck out 6 over his 4 innings of 2-hit, shutout relief.  Both teams are now 1-1.
